Many assume that built-in UPS systems are sufficient to protect production lines. However, during short phase interruptions or voltage dips (brown-out events), even UPS-backed systems cannot always prevent a line stoppage. The real solution lies not at the level of individual machines, but one level higher – in stabilizing and protecting the entire electrical network.
Invisible electrical noise and its consequences
Production equipment such as robots, variable-frequency drive pumps, CNC machines, conveyor systems, and cranes all introduce disturbances into the network during operation. This leads to voltage distortion and so-called harmonic disturbances.
